…is Folger’s in your vase!!
This is the first post in my 31 Day series: 31 Days of New Uses for Old Things. I’m really excited and nervous overwhelmed excited!
This series will be taking a look at things that have been lying around my house and putting them to good uses (organizational, decor, etc.). I’ve gotten so many ideas from Pinterest and other bloggers. This series will inspire me to do actually DO it!! Hopefully this also helps you to rid your house of useless things and make it more organized and pretty!
My first project was to use a square vase that had been sitting on my desk for many months. I was inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest (by the way, what do you think of the new look – I LOVE it!):
Looked like a GREAT way to organize all the make-up mess I had in my bathroom (I’m NOT showing you a picture of the mess – sorry no before picture this time!).
Plus, now that I have it in my bathroom, I smell the good aroma of coffee every time!! MMmM! Here is what I came up with (my vase was skinnier):
What do you think? Do you have any vases lying around you could do this with? I just think putting coffee beans in any container to freshen up a room is an AMAZING idea! Check by tomorrow to see what other New Uses for Old Things I’ve come up with!

LOVE your 31 days of cutting costs at Home!! I will be following your posts!
Ooh. Great idea. A good use for stale coffee beans too. My makeup set looks pretty identical to the one in the picture too! Such a professional set for how little I wear makeup (it was a pre-wedding gift). So I’ve definitely been looking for fancy storage options.
So, what’s that sparkly thing in yours? (I’m so curious!)

Thanks Heather!! Much of my make-up is MaryKay – Love it!
The sparkly thing is just sparkly ribbon.
I had it lying around and wanted to put it in just to add fun to it!
Have you seen the most recent copy of Real Simple magazine? They have 31 quick-and-easy-meals and they’re hosting a contest with their readers to try to follow the menu every day through October and then post about their experiences. How fun would that be with something like this?
That’s pretty cool! I looked through some of their recipes – sounded delicious! I love Real Simple’s recipes, though sometimes they are not cheap enough to make for this cheap girl on a budget!
Next year I might do something with cooking though for the 31 days!!
I love this topic, don’t be nervous…we are all in this together!
