Hi- I’m Betsy. Nice to meet you!
I’ve been married to the smartest, funniest, most loving man I know, Matt Pool since 10/10/10 (yes, we picked that date on purpose).
For our wedding reception he surprised me by singing Michael Buble’s “Feeling Good”, while his groomsmen did an interpretive dance to the words. Hilarious!
Our son Ain Levi was born in June of 2013 after a 27-hour labor and we both adore him!
I’ve always loved to read and read to others.
I am an Elementary Teacher by trade and immediately after graduating in 2007, I moved to the Philippines and taught Kindergarten at Faith Academy (International Missionary School) for 2 years. It was the best teaching job ever!
I love to dress up (especially as favorite book characters – Anne of Green Gables anyone?)
I love to dance.
I love God and studying His Word. I love my church family.
I love to travel.
I love to plan and organize.
I am so blessed to have wonderful family and friends!
What I blog about:
Currently, I blog a lot about:
I used to host a weekly Take it on Tuesday blog hop. (I may have to pick that up again at some point.)
I love challenging myself and have taken on a 31 day challenge the last several Octobers, writing:
- 31 Days of New Uses for Old Things,
- 31 Days to Building a Cleaning Routine,
- 31 Days of Decluttering the Whole House,
- 31 Days of Preparing to be a New Mom (series still in progress)
- Cutting your Grocery Bill 101 series.
Since becoming a mom, I’ve been writing about my experiences as a new mother. We are taking on the new tasks of cloth diapering, baby wearing, breastfeeding, and now I’m going to be venturing into the world of toddlerhood with my oldest!

How it all began…
This blog all began the day after my husband proposed to me April 10th, 2010, 6 months before we were to be married. He suggested we blog about our journey through planning a wedding on a budget. I LOVED the idea and he had no idea then, what this blog would become!
We began blogging on blogspot, which remains “the wedding blog.” To properly view our journey through engagement, you will have to start at the oldest post and read forwards. My favorite posts include Zeh Ring, in which we talk about how we designed my engagement ring, Planning Priorities, and Wedding Faux Pas. We also came up with a wedding contest our guest could participate in to win a gift card. Finally, we posted about our Last Minute “to-dos”.
After our wedding, I discovered I LOVED blogging and continued to do so.
THANKS for reading!
