Hi- I’m Betsy. Nice to meet you!
I’ve been married to the smartest, funniest, most loving man I know, Matt Pool since 10/10/10 (yes, we picked that day on purpose).
For our wedding reception he surprised me by singing Michael Buble’s “Feeling Good”, while his groomsmen did an interpretive dance to the words. Hilarious!
We have a little girl on the way – coming June 2013!!
I am thoroughly enjoying pregnancy so far and I’m sharing my journey weekly on Fridays with a fruit or vegetable picture to show how big our “Little June Bug” has grown to be!
I am a firstborn of three girls, and my husband is the firstborn with two younger sisters, so we know all about girls! It’s going to be so fun! I’ve already decided how I’m going to decorate the nursery.
I’ve always loved to read and read to others.
I am an Elementary Teacher by trade and immediately after graduating in 2007, I moved to the Philippines and taught Kindergarten at Faith Academy (International Missionary School) for 2 years. It was the best teaching job ever!
I love to cook and try new recipes. In fact, during our first year of marriage I didn’t repeat a single meal!
I love to dress up (especially as favorite book characters – Anne of Green Gables anyone?)
I love to dance.
I love God and studying His Word. I love my church family.
I love to travel.
I love to plan and organize.
I love to set goals – working through my 30 before 30 list!
I am so blessed to have wonderful family and friends!
What I blog about:
My three current passions are healthy cooking, DIY projects, and making my house prettier/more organized! I love to share as I learn and discover more ways to save money and make my home beautifully organized. I host a weekly Take it on Tuesday blog hop. I’d love for you to stop on by and share what projects you have been up to!
I love challenging myself and have taken on a 31 day challenge the last two Octobers, writing 31 Days of New Uses for Old Things and 31 Days to Building a Cleaning Routine, as well as Cutting your Grocery Bill 101 series.
Since being pregnant, I’m definitely writing about how that is going and I’m sure I will be writing about my experiences as a new mother when the time come. I plan on staying at home, cloth diapering, breastfeeding, and continue to teach piano and tutor part-time.

Posts I Loved Writing
How it all began…
This blog all began the day after my husband proposed to me April 10th, 2010, 6 months before we were to be married. He suggested we blog about our journey through planning a wedding on a budget. I LOVED the idea and he had no idea then, what this blog would become!
The Wedding Blog
We began blogging on blogspot, which remains “the wedding blog.” To properly view our journey through engagement, you will have to start at the oldest post and read forwards. My favorite posts include Zeh Ring, in which we talk about how we designed my engagement ring, Planning Priorities, and Wedding Faux Pas. We also came up with a wedding contest our guest could participate in to win a gift card. Finally, we posted about our Last Minute ”to-dos”.
After our wedding, I discovered I LOVED blogging and continued to do so.
THANKS for reading!
