Welcome back to 31 Days to Building a Cleaning Routine!
Monday I introduced what I’ll be blogging about this month. I also talked about how to figure out what margin time you have available to start your cleaning routine.
Tuesday I showed you my cleaning routine and walked you through how to start your own!

Day 3 task: Set alarms to tackle tricky tasks
Since I have the most free time in the morning to tackle my cleaning, I decided I needed a good night’s rest and to start early! If I don’t do the cleaning in the morning, or sometimes practically first thing, then it won’t get done.
So, I decided to set a couple of alarms to ensure I will go to bed on time. I’m one of those people whole can’t stop a project easily if I’m not done.
I just used the standard alarm on my smart phone (because I always have it with me):
Alarm 1 (labeled Wash dishes!) - 8pm
I want to stop eating by 8pm so I set the alarm to clean up the kitchen as soon as possible. Again, if I don’t do it early, then I’ll be exhausted by the time I turn into bed and I will end up putting it off until tomorrow.
Alarm 2 (labeled Wrap up projects and head to bed) – 9:30pm
This alarm is successful most of the time. This gives me, at most 30 minutes to wrap up whatever project I’m working on. (Sometimes I dismiss it and ignore it, like tonight *sheepish grin* – I’m writing this post at 10:30pm.)
Alarm 3 (labeled Go to bed) – 10:10pm
If I am heading to bed at this time, then I can get into bed and be asleep by 10:30pm.
I get up in the morning sometime between 6am and 6:45am – it depends.
This is a pretty simple idea, but it makes such a HUGE difference!!
Where you able to come up with a cleaning routine yesterday?
Tomorrow I’m going to provide a few more tips for sticking with your cleaning routine. See you then!!

So glad you are following along Rosann!! I’m going to check out your 31 day series.
Sometimes a set the timer on my stove for 5 or 10 minutes and see how much cleaning I can get in during that time. Setting it for bedtime is something I should do. I get on my computer at night and often go to bed way to late! Great tip Betsy

Thanks Deborah!! Yes, it is really easy to lose track on time on the computer.
