So, maybe this is cheating a little bit, but I LOVE sharing recipes and I’ve missed sharing those things with you this month! Plus, I made this AMAZING Potato-Crusted Chicken Fingers made from potato chips!! So, if you have too many potato chips lying around, you can make this dish!
Potato-Crusted Chicken Fingers
- 6 ounces baked potato chips – 3/4 cup all-purpose flour – 1/2 cup 2% reduced-fat milk (I used skim) – 1 large egg, lightly beaten – 4 (6-ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into strips – 1/2 teaspoon salt (I didn’t add any salt) - 3 tablespoons canola oil, divided
Today’s 31 Day of New Uses for Old Things post I actually completed over the summer. I thought this is a great example of new uses for old things though!! (If you want to see a list of my previous 31 Days, I have links posted on my sidebar!)
When we purchased our Queen size bed last year we had no headboard. I’ve been wanting something for awhile and didn’t know what to do, until….
Headboard before picture
I found wood cabinets doors at habitat ReStore! They would be perfect as a headboard – I just needed to figure out [...]
Todays guest post is from… (drumroll please…) my husband!
He just started his own blog: The Social Network Consultant – I would encourage you to check it out!

I LOVE Pinterest! It’s definitely been my inspiration for these 31 Days! If you are not on it, read about why you should be!
Today I thought I would post about some organizational projects I LOVE, but just haven’t gotten around to yet, or it just doesn’t work with my home.
Have an old VHS tape lying around?
Turn it into a picture + secret storage! (Source)
Check out all my post in my 31 days of New Uses for Old Things series so far!
I’m so excited to show you this Wine Bottle Tree! While on our 1 year anniversary visiting vineyards, we came across this wine bottle tree:
and figured we NEEDED it!
I looked at all the wine bottles we had on hand – some blue, some green, some clear…
Today I would like to highlight what a good friend of mine has done for her table’s centerpiece. Maybe this will inspire you in some way!
She had an idea to fill mason jars with acorns, but when she and her son went looking around their neighborhood they didn’t find too many acorns. Instead, she opted for buying peanuts (still a cheap alternative)!
She just put a votive on top of the peanuts within the mason jar. I also the love the touch of burlap she placed under the mason jar!
This month of October is going by really fast!! I am LOVING this fall season! Unfortunately, I don’t seem to have time to enjoy it all or make as many of the cute crafts as I would like to. This week/weekend has been crazy for us: getting back into routine after a vacation + my husband has been running lights for a show at the University.
Anyway, I thought I would share some fun fall decor crafts I’ve seen around the blog-sphere and wish I had time to make. Check out this wreath:
Coffee Sleeve Wreath from Magpie and Cake!
Check out my other 31 Days of New Uses for Old Things!! Or, look at my Pinterest Board – I’m pinning MUCH more than I’m sharing here. If you are on facebook, please like my page!!
I can wait while you do that….
Thanks so much!!! <3
Today I’ve got just a small, very EASY new use for binder clips!!
I bought 6 at Walmart for under $2. I would show you how well the green in them matches my desk decor, but it’s so messy right now. Sorry.
Anyway I used them [...]
Today’s project was inspired by something I saw I Pinterest. Isn’t it cute? Can you believe it is made out of cereal boxes??
Isn’t it amazing how when you see projects online, sometimes they make it look so easy? I won’t lie – this one was a little bit harder for me than I originally thought it would be.
This IS a really super cute idea. I’ll tell you how to make it!
What you need:
- cereal boxes – star die-cut or cut-out as a guide (what I didn’t have and what made it harder) – [...]
