Mess-Free Christmas Handprint Ornament

Mess-free Handprint Ornament

The project was SO EASY to do! So easy that my mom did all the work while I held a slightly squirming 6-month old AND took the pictures!! I LOVE the fact that this project does NOT require getting an infant’s hand dirty with paint!

Supplies needed:

a glass {or plastic} ornament ball clear embossing ink {such as Versa Mark} embossing powder {color of your choice} q-tip or pencil eraser {to clean it up a bit} embossing heat gun or hair dryer {just test the hair dryer on the embossing powder first}

Once you have all the supplies at the ready, then;

Step 1: Get the baby’s hand sticky

Step 2: Press baby’s hand onto ornament

Easy DIY Baby Legs Tutorial ~ Mustache Edition

DIY Baby Legs

So, my husband got me THIS for Christmas!!

It didn’t arrive until Dec. 31st, BUT I didn’t waste any time. I knew exactly the first project I wanted to do. I grabbed the men’s mustache socks I had purchased at Target and made…

Easy DIY Baby Legs!

This is really only a four step process!

Step 1: Cut

Take your men’s socks and cut off the foot. With the bottom piece cut the toe and heel off and toss. You will use the middle section.

Step 2: Turn inside out and sew

Take the middle section an turn inside out. Sew a line down one of the long sides, about 1-inch from the edge.

Step 3: Fold

Fold half of the section over itself so that the unfinished side

Romance on a Dime Nursery Reveal!

frame over crib

I am SOO EXCITED to show you the nursery!! ***UPDATE: We had a boy, not a girl! So, here is how I changed it.

It is finally done – all details in place (minus a name banner which I might add later above the changing table).

Nursery Reveal

About six months ago our office resided in the room that is now our Nursery. Here is what it looked like:

And the other side of the room was a MESS!

We first spent time decluttering it, which I show before and after pictures here. Then, with the help of a friend, I painted the room gray and the small dresser white. Here are the befores:

12 Days of Christmas: Blessing My Husband

12 days of Christmas image

Here is my Take it on Tuesday project: This year for Christmastime, I wanted to bless my husband by doing something thoughtful for him. He is the perfect guy for me: strong, yet sensitive, affectionate and understanding. I love him so much, but I don’t often show it in his love language: words of encouragement.

I’m combining what I saw on All Our Days, and the idea of speaking words of encouragement to him. I know that the actual 12 days of Christmas begin on Christmas Day, but ours will run from December 13th through Christmas Eve. Each day my husband will receive a gift and often a note that tells him how much I respect and appreciate him.

I’m going to share with you the ideas I’ve come up with so far. I even printed out the cards Allyson from All

Day 6: Simple Cleaning Supply List

cleaning supplies

Welcome back to 31 Days to Building a Cleaning Routine!

Day 6 task: Simple Cleaning Supply List

I’ve been looking at a lot of blogs that give Homemade Cleaning Recipes for awhile now, and pinning them. I’m so excited to try my hand at making them and cleaning!!

Having some new really motivates me to use it, even if it is a cleaner.

I specifically searched for cleaning recipes that would use inexpensive items (or items I already had on hand) and would serve more than one purpose.

You probably already know you can use both baking soda and vinegar in many ways. But I was surprised at HOW useful those two items really are!

Take it on Tuesday: Easy to Make Pumpkins!

Easy to Make Pumpkins

Hey everyone! In the fall mood yet? Look for the TIOT link party to go live Tuesday morning at 6am! I can’t wait to see what you have been up to!

Today I have three kids of easy to make pumpkins to share with you!!

Fabric & Plastic Bag Pumpkins

This first pumpkin was SO EASY to make!! I even showed a friend how and whipped up two more in 5 minutes! This idea was originally from Our Pinteresting Family: Plastic Bag Pumpkins. Check out her post to see the how-to.

Basically, I wrapped fabric around wadded up plastic bags and then secured it with twine. Then, I added burlap on top as the stem. Viola!! No glue, no tape!

Take it on Tuesday: Fall Leaves Wreath

fall leaves wreath

Hello! I know I promised to reveal my wreath yesterday, but sometimes real life trumps blogging. In this case, “real life” meant going to our bi-annual Library sale and picking up a bag full of books for $5 and correcting Chemistry tests.

If you want to link up to Take it on Tuesday, join the party!! There are plenty of great projects to browse through (especially if you are looking for something fall inspired)!

Fall Leaves Wreath

This has been the easiest wreath I’ve made yet. If you have been reading this blog for awhile, you will know that wreaths are usually time consuming (Moss Wreath) for me, and sometimes even fail.

Well, I had seen Nest of Posies’ Fall Felt Leaf Wreath and instantly fell in love!! I thought about varying the wreath slightly, but I just

Take it on Tuesday (TIOT) #46: Book page & Leaf Wall Clock

book pages in frames

Thanks for being part of the giveaway last week! So far, I’ve picked two winners (you will get an email from me shortly):

MyMemories – Jolynda

Your Grocery Budget Toolbox – Nicole

Book page & Leaf Wall Clock

This was rather simple, but I love the look of it. I took the extra book pages left from my DIY Kindle cover project.

I’ve had my wall clock for awhile, and it was a flag wall clock up until today. I love the texture on the leaves and the added depth the book pages gives it.

This was a rather simple project, but I’ve got more fun fall decor on it’s way to show you!!

TIOT Features!

#1. Packaging Ideas from The Secret Life of Samara

#2.
