Well, after my 31 Day series in October, it’s time to get back to the routine of posting my menu plans here on Romance on a dime. (I did still menu plan during October MOST of the weeks, I just didn’t take the time to post it here.)
I’m not going grocery shopping until tomorrow, so some of the details such as sides and what type of pizza I haven’t determined yet. I’m going to be picking up what’s on sale and making something from that.
This week, I chose several recipes from Cooking Light.
I think I’m going to really enjoy being 29 this year. I can’t wait to write out my 30 before 30 bucket list!! Don’t worry, I’ll share it with you after I come up with it.

Last week I made the Peaches N’ Cream Green Thickie and LOVED, so this week we are trying more for Breakfast and Lunches. (I will let you know which are our favorites next week.)
Wow – you can definitely tell Fall came to Kansas three days ago!! We have had lows in the 40s and 50s overnight and temperature no higher than 82.
There has been a cool breeze everyday, so we’ve had the windows open constantly. It’s so nice!! (This week we should clean the windows.)
However, with the windows open, I’ve either had my allergies bothering me, or I’m developing a cold. We’ll have to see later today which it is. But it’s worth having fresh air in the house, right?
Yay!! It’s here!! My 1 year blogiversary is Sept. 5th and I’m celebrating by offering 7 giveaways! Don’t miss out. Each day I’ll post something different.
We loved the Bean Chimichangas (we took out the Beef from the recipe) from last week (well, maybe I loved it more than my husband. I think he is getting Mexicaned-out)! They make a easy leftovers too! Here is the cost breakdown for the Chimichangas:
Last week we LOVED the Apple, Goat Cheese, and Pecan Pizza (except we are using Feta instead of Goat cheese). I figured out the cost breakdown (only $3 per pizza!!!):
This week I have two more!! First up, our Braised Chicken Gumbo, which only costs $3.04 (plus the cost of brown rice) to make the meal!
Last week I also made Bean & Cheese Freezer Burritos. Since I made up a bunch, the total came to $22.09, but it only costs $0.74 per burrito! (If you want to cut the cost even more, you probably could put less [...]
Last week I spent time planning meals for the whole month. I decided to look over the past year of menu planning and picked out favorite meals of ours. Now, over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to calculate the costs for these meals I’ve chosen.
Wish me luck! It takes a lot of work, but I’m coming along.
Last Thursday I showed you how I make the Tomato Basil Pasta Salad. I figured the cost for that meal = $2.19 (because we used tomatoes and basil from the garden). For us, the meal only serves [...]
Hi! So glad to see you here. I'm a soon-to-be mom, wife and a work-at-home piano teacher and tutor. I know I'm weird, but I love to menu plan, organize, set goals, DIY and enjoy life with my amazing husband - Matt Pool!
