This month and next I’m working through the 25 Days of Working Towards Simple Living series. You can read everything I’m posting in this series under the tab Simplify. I absolutely LOVED Lorilee’s book Simple Living and took a lot away from it! I would suggest you check it out!
Day 5: On the Fridge
This was a much simpler task I was able to accomplish this week. After clearing off all the surfaces on my kitchen, I was motivated to also clear off the fridge. It has a TON of stuff on it and usually looks messy. Like clearing off the surfaces, [...]

Day 3: Surfaces
Last week I took a couple of days to clear the surface spaces in our kitchen (and some in the living room). In order to take things off our counter – even the toaster and other appliances, I needed to reorganize and sort through our pantry and [...]

I’ve been working on Day 3′s assignment: clearing surface spaces in the kitchen. I’ve done a little bit of it, but have not have a big chunk time to clear out cabinet space so I can clear the surface space. Lorilee’s challenge is to keep everything off the counters for 1 week and if after that time you feel [...]

Day 2: Underneath
Yesterday my husband and I took just under 20 minutes to go through all our socks and underwear. He does a pretty good job at getting rid of socks and underwear when there are holes in them and I need to start that habit! I have socks and underwear that need replacing [...]
Or, as I may call it: 25 days of Working Towards Simple Living
I started reading Simple Living by Lorilee Lippincott – so good! Lorilee breaks different areas in life down into 30 days in which you get rid of stuff, organize, or simplify your life. I love some her tips of how to minimize what comes into the home and what stays in the home!
Because of my busy schedule in May, I’m planning on working on this on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in May, then every week day in June until I’m finished. [...]
While Betsy is rocking the food and DIY world and pinching every penny she can, I am attempting to do the same in the tech world. So, this TIOT focuses on a project I took on that has us now paying less than half of what we used to pay for our cell phones while retaining all of the smart phone functionality (including data).
The process started with these thoughts:
I started asking myself these questions:
- Why am I still paying $$ a month for cell service/home phone service when skype, imessage and [...]
Thanks for linking up last week! I’m excited to see what you all will share this week. {Next week I’m going to have a 4th of July DIY post!!)
Last week I talked about my June goals and priorities. One of my goals is to lose 5 pounds for the month of June. In order for that to happen, I want to track my calorie intake and weight. As an app lover, I’ve tried several. Recently I came across MyFitnessTracker and I LOVE it!! It’s so easy to use, very customizable, and FREE.
Thanks to everyone who linked up last week! YOU make this a success!!
This week I’m focusing on Google +. I would love to start following your page on Google + if you have one, then please follow me back!!
I make it my priority to follow everyone’s blog by the second time they link up (usually in my Google Reader). I also pin your projects on my Favorite’s Board.
First, I’d like to show you what I’ve been up to this week, then I’ll reveal my favorite 5! Finally, scroll down to link up your new projects!!
I’m getting ready to start a long weekend vacation break – yay!! So, I’m not going to publish a Frugal Recipe today.
Instead, I just wanted to say a quick word about some exciting things coming up!!
Within the month of June:
- recipe tab with all of Romance on a Dime’s recipes – 7 Foods to Make and Never Buy Again (with price comparisons) – header and blog look change (I can’t wait to show you!!)
This summer:
- first Romance on a Dime giveaway (let me know if you would like [...]
I’ve been mentioning in several posts about how we’ve taken on the task of going through each room in our house and decluttering. (I’ve gotten this idea from Money Saving Mom’s book.)
We first gathered boxes together and labeled them as:
- Sell/Give away
- Put away
- Upcycle (or this could be called craft/DIY supplies)
- Trash (in a bag)
- File (tray)
Then, we had two scratch pieces of paper to list out:
Hi! So glad to see you here. I'm a soon-to-be mom, wife and a work-at-home piano teacher and tutor. I know I'm weird, but I love to menu plan, organize, set goals, DIY and enjoy life with my amazing husband - Matt Pool!
