The blog hop will be open all week! Scroll to the end of this post to link up!!
Even though I added a headboard to my bed and I LOVED the look of it, I’ve been looking for something to hang above it. In browsing the web, I came across the idea of wrapping fabric around shoe box lids. Those are both items I have around my house, so why not give it a try?
First gather the shoe box lids:
Then, hot glue fabric around it. I wasn’t too picky with what the back looked like, but I basically folded it like you would wrap a present.
When I put it up, I’m not sure I like the color choices with the rest of my bedroom decor. Plus the square lids are a bit big.
Here is a close up, so you can better see the pattern:
Still, this is a great idea for a cheap redo of wall decor!! I’m linking this up to Today’s Creative Blog.
I also saw this great idea on Pinterest of using Styrofoam and scrapbook paper as wall art! I might have to do this one for above my bed!
Now for the blog hop!!
Link up anything you have “taken on” this Tuesday: recipe, organization idea, handmade project, craft, DIY tutorial or a personal project!

This is so fun….thanks for letting me participate!
Thank you for linking up! Your wall decal is so cute! I might think about something like that for my living room walls.
I am visiting from #commenthour and I loved your post. I would have never though to use old shoe boxes and design them the way you did. I don’t have that artistic mind as that part of my brain was passed over. Thanks for sharing.

I would not have thought of it either. I love looking at all the creative genius being spread around through Pinterest. When I see what others do, I can easily make it my own.
Great idea. I love all your ideas of using what you already have. I found a post a while ago with the same idea using t-shirt that I’ve been thinking about trying. {http://craftsncoffee.wordpress.com/2011/09/02/repurpose-old-t-shirts-and-wear-them-on-your-wall-instead-super-fast-t-shirt-wall-art-tutorial/} Fun!

The one thing I would suggest first is after you copy and paste it, then just delete each quotation mark and retype each quotation mark. Sometimes that helps. Let me know if you still have trouble after this!
The Nester posted about wrapped shoeboxes as wall art today. Such a great and simple idea. I have framed fabric in my dining room, but I might have to try the styrofoam in another. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my jute pumpkins.
I linked up. Thanks for the invite. I really like the idea of using fabric and scrapbook paper for wall art but haven’t tried it yet.
