Easy Upcycled Scarf
Ever since we started Project Declutter, I’ve have a lot more matterials in which to upcycle. I put a lot of brightly colored t-shirts in my upcycle pile. Here’s another project with t-shirts!
Best part about it?
This is an quick, easy, no sew project!!
Materials:
- 1 XL or XXL t-shirt
- 9 inch plate
- scissors
- pen
Step 1
Trace 8-12 nine-inch circles onto t-shirt and cut out.
Step 2
Cut circles into spirals (see above picture), making sure to have a good 2 inches for the width of the spiral. This does NOT have to be perfect.
Step 3
Pull on fabric to stretch, then run hands down fabric strip (this will cause the fabric to curl). If you are unsure as to what exactly this looks like, check out this video from the DIY Dish.
Step 4
When you have all the circle cut and stretched into strips, put them together. You may choose to tie the bunch together with another fabric strip for security’s sake.
Then, ta-da!
I love how it turned out!! I have 3 more t-shirts I’d like to turn into scarves!

Great tutorial! I made one using the same technique but I ran out of t-shirt pieces before it looked like it was full enough to be finished! The blue you picked goes so nicely with your blue eyes : )

The shirt I used for this scarf was one of my husbands t-shirts. He got rid of many that I liked the color of.
