Sleep – Well, I think my body now needs a little less sleep. My “early bird” body is back. Meaning, even with no alarm set I wake up between 7 and 8am (instead of the 9 or 10am it was in the first trimester). HOWEVER, with Christmas and visiting the midwife this week, there is so much to think about. So, when I wake up in the middle of the night, I’ve been unable to go back to sleep for an hour or two. Even though I’m going to bed earlier, the lost 2 hours, plus my “early bird” body – I’m not getting as much sleep as I need.
Total weight gain/loss? – Last week I told you that I had gained just 3 pounds in my first trimester. Then, last weekend I Christmas partied it up and gained 4 pounds in 2 days! Whoops, but when I weighed myself again the last day of week 13, I was just 2 pounds up from last week, so 5 pounds up overall.
Maternity clothes? – I got my first maternity hand-me-arounds this week!! I had a lot of fun trying the clothes on. Much of it still looks weird on me since I’m not big yet, but it’s still good to have! I did learn that I wanted maternity jeans, so I went out and bought those.
I also took that time to go through all my wardrobe and I currently only have 15 shirts and one pair of pants from my wardrobe that fit me (and no summer clothes, but I’ll worry about that later)!! So, I’m glad I bought the jeans, and I’ll have do to some more shopping after Christmas.
Best moment last week? - My husband telling me this pregnancy had felt even more real as he is seeing my baby bump develop. We are so enjoying this pregnancy!!
What I am looking forward to: Christmas break and time with family!!
Our little “June Bug’s” Growth
We’ve been taking photos since week 6 and showing a fruit or vegetable in the picture that is the same size as our little “June Bug”. For weeks 12 and 13: Lime (2 1/2 inches), Lemon (3 inches long). This week: Avocado (3 1/2 inches long):
