Hello all! It’s time for a pregnancy update! Last week for our week 18 post I told the story of us finding out the gender. It’s pretty hilarious – check it out. Today I’m going to share about how week 19 of pregnancy went!
Week 19
How I feel – Earlier this week I had sharp pain every time I stood up and called the midwife. She said I probably strained a ligament. By the end of the night the pain was excruciating if I made the slightest movement!! My husband carried me straight up to bed after he found me bawling and suggested I rest all day Wednesday in bed and he would stay home and serve me. He’s so sweet. I did that and I felt 100% better on Thursday.
Total weight gain/loss? – Last week I gained 2 pounds and this week I gained 1-2 pounds. So now, I’m at a 10-11 pound gain overall during this pregnancy, which is on track.
Cravings – My appetite is more normal now, so I haven’t had a lot of cravings (other than for sugar). I try not to have a lot of sugar in the house, since I have the biggest sweet tooth.
Movement: YES!! I felt movement for the first time this week, about a week after the sonogram. Feeling the baby kick makes it even more real that I have a little human instead me! On Wednesday I felt a pretty hard kick, so I told my husband to put his hand where I had felt it. When she kicked again though, he couldn’t feel anything on the outside, but I definitely felt a decent kick on the inside!
Best moment last week? Feeling the baby kick for the first time.
AND going to a cloth diaper swap! We were able to buy 6 newborn size diapers, and 11 small and regular size diapers and spent an average of less than $9/diaper!! So much fun. We both had a great time and I heard my husband using the word “cute” a number of times.
Gender: It’s a GIRL!
What I am looking forward to: Continuing to feel the baby and also my husband being able to feel the baby kick and move.
Our little “June Bug’s” Growth
We’ve been taking photos since week 6 and showing a fruit or vegetable in the picture that is the same size as our little “June Bug”. Last week: our little girl was the length of an onion (5 1/2 inches long and weighs 8 1/2 ounces) This week: she is 6 inches in length and 8.5 ounces:

You felt movement-YEAH!!!!!!!! So glad you enjoyed the diaper swap! Sorry to hear you have been uncomfortable. Probably pulled something when getting in and out of my car. Love you!
No, I don’t think it was from you car. It was something Tuesday, and I pushed myself too hard on Tuesday.
Where did you find out about the diaper swap? Those are some cute diapers that you got!

I found out about the diaper swap on Craiglist! I had a search out for cloth diapers.
Well, where have I been? I can’t believe it’s been that long since I visited, and here you are almost 5 months pregnant!!! A very belated congratulations to you Betsy! Sorry I haven’t been around. I need to do a little catching up I can see. Glad to hear your pain wasn’t anything serious. I remember those ligament pains. Not fun. Hope you have a great week!
