How I feel/slept:
I am still enjoying every day of being pregnant!! Not every day is alike – some days I’m exhausted, some days I have energy. Some days I feel totally normal, some days I feel big. Some days I get nauseated, some days I have acid reflux. But it’s all so minimal and so worth it!!
Sleep – It seems like more than half the time I am waking up in the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes I can fall back asleep, sometimes I can’t.
Total weight gain/loss? Yes – 2 pounds! So, overall I’m at a 16 pound weight gain.
I’m having more cravings lately (just anything I read or see a picture of it seems), and I’m more hungry lately.
Best moment this week?
The highlight of my week was going to see my midwife at the New Birth Company (bringing my doula along this time and allowing her to tour the place). This was the first time my midwife has mentioned what position Baby Girl was in!! THAT was the best part – Baby Girl was stretched out across my belly (transverse position), facing my spine. Her head was on my left side and her butt on the right side (which explains the harder kicks I’ve been feeling on my right side).
What was pretty cool was that my midwife explained how to tell if what you are feeling is the butt or the head. If it’s the butt, when you move it back and forth you will see my whole belly move; if it’s the head, less will move, because you are just slightly shifting the head on the neck, not the whole body. It’s pretty cool. When we listened to the heartbeat (a strong 140), she said that confirmed her suspicions on the baby’s position.
Picked out a gray paint and I’m going to purchase it today!! Next week – painting time!
I’ve also spent some time this week making sure the nursery room was picked up so I will be ready by next week.
What I am looking forward to
Getting the nursery totally painted – walls and furniture. I hope to have that done (or almost done) next Friday!!
Our little “June Bug’s” Growth
We’ve been taking photos since week 6 and showing a fruit or vegetable in the picture that is the same size as our little “June Bug”. Last week: our little girl was 13.5 inches long (romaine lettuce) and 1.5 pounds in weight. This week: 14 inches long and 1 two-thirds pounds in weight (acorn squash).
